Porch swing is by Karen Cary miniatures.
Furnishings for the bakery were a kit by Debbie Young that I'd bought years ago and stashed. I knew I was waiting for something.
The wonderful bakery cakes I purchased from Pearce Miniatures. Vintage posters around the bakery I reduced and printed on a color printer. Easy and cheap.
Birthday cake by Pearce Miniatures, as are the cookies, and the donuts behind it on the counter.
In the living room, the sofa, coffee table, and lamps are from BJ Miniatures. I upholstered the sofa and made the curtain ruffle from silk from Brodnax.
Upstairs: Bedroom is a kit by Debbie Young (Young at Heart). Rugs and roses I purchased from Scale Designs. I dressed the bed with a scarp of microcheck silk.
Detail of attic beams (all part of the kit!).

I could not resist this kit by Debbie Young (Young at Heart). The house is one-quarter inch scale (1/4"=1 foot). I lived in a house that looked like this when I was a child. The kit provided the structure, doors and windows; siding, roofing, bricks, and exterior trim; and the interior details--wallpaper, flooring, staircase. I decided to make an ice-cream parlor/bakery on the lower floor and a small apartment above. Furniture and accessories came from Karen Carey, Pearce Miniatures, BJ Miniatures, Scale Designs, and Debbie Young. I built this house at the same time I wrote "Viva Las Vampires" in Just One Sip. Good therapy! Scroll down for many photos. |
